✦ How did you come up with your artistic name? ✦
✦ And what does it mean? ✦

My name, Nymphdae, combines "Nymphaea," the Latin name for water lily, and the Latin suffix "dae," which refers to the family of frogs. These elements represent my admiration for both the water lily, my favorite flower, and frogs, my favorite animal.

✦ Why did you switch from your old name, Chocoreetu, to your current name, Nymphdae? ✦

Originally, Chocoreetu was a collaborative name created when I was part of an artist duo. Unfortunately, my partner had to leave due to personal reasons, leaving me to continue alone with the name. After some reflection and personal growth, I chose to transition from my previous name, Chocoreetu, to Nymphdae to better reflect my evolving artistic identity and focus. While Chocoreetu served me well, Nymphdae aligns more closely with my passion for frogs and creative exploration.

✦ How long have you been creating art professionally? ✦

Art has been a lifelong passion for me, I was always drawing. Even in Kindergarten (my parents still have some of those artworks). I transitioned from a science-focused middle school to an art high school, solidifying my commitment to pursuing art as a profession. While I never had a specific "start" in professional art, I began earning income through commissions around 2019. Prior to that, I gained valuable experience through a graphic design internship starting in 2016-2017, laying the foundation for my career in visual arts and design.

✦ Where did you go to school? ✦

I attended a HTL (Higher Technical Education Institute or Technical College) specializing in graphic- & communication design, where I graduated from the print and digital media department. Subsequently, I pursued studies in law at university before changing my major to complete a bachelor's degree in game art and 3D animation at the SAE Insitute.

✦ Who/What are your inspirations? ✦

There are countless amazing artists who inspire me every day! I follow many of them on Twitter and Instagram, where I draw inspiration from their work. I’m happy to share a few of my favorites with you—I'll link some of them so you can explore their incredible art as well.

✦ What are you okay with drawing? And what will you not draw? ✦

I am open to drawing a variety of subjects, including female and male characters, original characters, fanart (for personal use only), portraits, artistic nudity, soft NSFW, and soft gore. However, there are specific subjects I do not typically draw, such as mecha and offensive content. While I have accepted animal commissions in the past, this depends on the complexity and size of the commission.
Please note that mecha drawings take considerable time and do not align with my current artistic focus.

Thank you for considering my art for your tattoo! However, I don't have much experience in tattoo design, so I prefer to leave tattoo commissions to skilled tattoo artists who specialize in that craft. If you're interested in using one of my existing illustrations as a tattoo:✦ ✦ ✦

✦ What is your typical turnaround time for commissions? ✦

The turnaround time for commissions varies greatly depending on the complexity, difficulty, and size of each individual piece. Additionally, I balance my artistic work with a corporate job in finance and controlling, which can impact my availability. Factors such as health reasons and motivation levels also play a role.Therefore, commission completion can range from a few days to 2-3 months. I strive to provide realistic estimates and keep clients informed throughout the process.To keep track of your commission's progress, you can visit the Trello board, which is updated frequently. This allows you to stay informed about the status of your artwork and any milestones reached during the creation process.
